As a student in the dental hygiene program, I have the privilege to serve in my community. Each semester I have the opportunity to serve 10 hours in my local communities, and also serve 300 hours of service as a member of AmeriCorps. I feel the hours served are essential in my growth as a student, and in my future as a clinician. These opportunities allow me to give back to the community, but also are a way for me to reach out and get new patients for clinic. It's an incredible way for me to build relationships with patients and be successful in clinic and my requirements. This has also had an impact to my own personal growth.
